What does 'Oni Yuri' mean? I'm into sword collecting and I purchased a blade named 'Oni Yuri.' I know 'Yuri' means 'Lily' but as for 'Oni' I'm getting mixed results. Most places I find say it means 'demon' or 'devil' but a few places, including where I purchased the sword, say it means 'tiger.' But I think the Japanese word for tiger isn't 'Oni.' I'm not learning Japanese but I love their swords and history and I would love to know what the English name for this sword is without getting it wrong.

Just for reference tiger is normally tora I do not know how to type kanji so cannot show that Literal kanji translation for oniyuri is "collection of 100 demons" I think though

Of course, the Japanese word for tiger isn't 'Oni.' But 'Oni Yuri(鬼百合)'(a name of flower) is equivalent to "Tiger lily" in English. オニユリ(鬼百合・Lilium lancifolium) http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%82%AA%E3%83%8B%E3%83%A6%E3%83%AA
