why does the author use"get tricked"not"got tricked"here?Thx. I was reading about how some people get tricked or drugged in their hotel rooms and have their organs removed! since the author uses "was reading"then why does he use"get tricked"not"got tricked"and "have their organs removed"not"havd their organs removed"here?THX.

I don't agree with Migee that it is wrong to say 'got tricked' or 'had their organs removed'. I think you can use either the present 'get tricked' / 'are tricked', 'have their organs removed' or the past tense 'got tricked / 'were tricked' , 'had their organs removed'. Both sound fine to me.

The author used "get tricked" because the past participle in the sentence is the word "was". If the author used "I was reading.." with "got tricked.." and "had their organs" then the sentence would be incorrect :)
