watching any content in the target language will help and aids in the 'fluent' process. But, you have to manage how you watch things via the media, so that you are learning as you are being entetained, rather than being entertained and not learning. Let me explain: I watch films in different languages and via body language, context etc, i very well understand with ease. Yet, i learnt nothing (for the most part) But, when i watch with a deliberate effort, i realize that i learn expressions and retain them etc. So the aim is to watch deliberately. However, this might not be the case for everyone, but filsm, soap operas etc will help. But those alone won't be enough, because they don't teach grammar nor explain
