play in/ on / for I need to say When I was a child I used to play for a basketball team. But could I use in / on instead . ' Because I suppose " for" Is correct here , isnt it? thanks

You could say: "When I was a child, I used to play for a basketball team." or "When I was a child, I used to play on a basketball team." But you could not say "When I was a child, I used to play in a basketball team." That is incorrect.

It is perfectly OK to say; "When I was a child, I used to play in a basketball team." When I was a kid, I used to play in a soccer team every winter.
