本 versus 書籍 What is the difference and when is one more appropriate than the other? If I were to say "I bought a book [at a store]" which version should I use?

私は(店で)本を買った/買いました。I bought a book [at a store] 書籍<しょせき> is a stiff word. 本<ほん> is usually used.
