Can brokerage commission mean the same as brokerage?

In everyday language, a "commission" is a % payment a salesperson receives after making a successful sale. In this case the service sold relates to brokerage. It's possible that in the financial world, such a commission is known by the abbreviated word "a brokerage". I don't know if this is the case. If so, you could still distinguish "a brokerage" (commission) from "brokerage" (the service).
