Are these sentences right? Young people want to live a secure life. All his toys lay about all over the room. I can’t sleep at night. I lost sleep over love. I often go to the bar to swop lies with my friends. She let out her house on hire.

-All his toys lay about the room. -I can't sleep at night. I've (I have) lost sleep over love. - "swop" lies is fine. It does sound as if it would be a more familiar phrase spoken in the British dialect. In America we might say, "Me and friends go out talking (four letter word that starts with sh%&" or the proper, "talking bull-crap" - And for the last one, I understand "let" in British English as "rent" in American but I don't understand the last half of the sentence. -
