Pronunciation / accent reduction Dear all, I've been living in Britain for yonks and have become fluent in English. So fluent, in fact, that I often have fun with it when I write. Yet my pronunciation hasn't kept up. Far from having fun when I speak English, damn people just double take the moment I open my mouth. I tried recording myself reading aloud only to erase all the recordings in an embarrasing shame. I guess that's part of the issue. After reading a booklet on pronunciation I just speak slower and louder, but I *need* more work. If you ever struggled with pronunciation or have experience teaching pronunciation please share your expertise with us. On the contrary, if you are a gifted learner and you've managed to pick up accents with no difficulties, I am afraid I have nothing to learn from you as our brains don't quite work the same way. Thanks.
