Why do verbs sometimes come first in some sentences? - Squawked something. --> I see this term in an English story book. - Something squawked. --> But this is what I usually say. We can't say 'Went he'. Can we?!

"Squawked something" indicates that a person or animal made a noise. For example "The bird squawked something". The thing doing the squawking will always be know in this phrase. "Something squwaked" indicates that a squwaking sound was made, but we do not know who made it. For example "something squawked from behind the bushes". You can't say "went he"
