Because I know in English we use the word because a LOT. I wondering whether there was a Dutch equivalent or not, and if not then whatever is closest and how it is used. Dank je!

I am not a native speaker of dutch, but in my experience, the word for because (and there are many others depending on the context) is often "want" or "omdat." "want" does not change word order and appears to be used where quick explanations are given. "Ik werk niet vandaag, want ik bin ziek" "omdat" does change the order. "Ik studeer nederlands, omdat het heel leuk is." (the verb in the second clause gets pushed to the end of the sentence)
