Irish: Asking When Somebody Watched Something Which of these translations using the verb féach ar is correct, if any? If not, then what is the correct translation? When did he watch the movie? 1. Cá huair a fhéach sé ar an scannán? 2. Cá huair a d'fhéach sé ar an scannán? Isn't #1 correct? I forget whether the d' is dropped in direct relative clauses or whether they are retained. Hmmm. Also, how do you ask this using the verb amharc ar instead?

In the direct relative the d' is retained, so 2 is the correct one. In the indirect relative it is dropped: Cén t-am ar fhéach sé ar an scannán? With "amharc": Cá huair a d'amharc sé ar an scannán? Cén t-am ar amharc sé ar an scannán?
