abiti qui vicino...? Ciao, I am a beginner and two Italian sentences in my textbook confuse me: ...... io prendo il metro che e molto vicino. ...... abiti qui vicino? Is it correct to write the second one like "abiti qui che e molto vicino?" and the first one like "io prendo il mentro vicino"?

Hi, the first sentence can be translated in english as "I take the underground which is really close" while the one you wrote can be translated as "I take the near underground". The meaning is not completely different but has a slight difference in the meaning. In the second one the difference is even more marked imo, the sentence on the book says "I live nearby" and yours is "I live here, which is an area really near". I believe with a little more time and practice you'll notice these differences as well :) good luck!

la parola metropolitana e` abbreviata in due forme: -- la metro -- il metro` (con l'accento!) La parola /il metro/ in inglese si dice /the meter/.
