How do I find more serious language partners?

I always find that people who write AND correct entries in their notebooks tend to be serious about studying and participating in exchanges. Ensure that your profile makes clear what it is that you're looking for - is it conversation practice, regular Skype meetings, more formalised shared study relating to specific themes, is it exam preparation which means you want someone to help you with that. Also ensure that you make it clear what you are offering to other learners. What in particular are you able to help with? What topics are you specifically interested in? How many times do you want to meet with a language partner each week? All these things are worth considering. Of course, it takes a little bit of trial and error. I've met with people who seem like excellent language partners and we click instantly. In other cases, I've had a nice conversation but we've realised that it maybe isn't going to work or that the conversation isn't as natural as we had hoped. It'll all take a little bit of patience until you find the right people, but once you do, I can promise you that it'll have been worth all the searching and waiting! Good luck!

Hello Pam, Have you looked in the 'language partner' section under 'community' above? If this is not giving you the results you are interested in, why not post your own 'ad' and then maybe you can sort out the wheat from the chaff!
