Hi Gabrielle, I would say "I live in a small city in the state of São Paulo". If your city is a large one, you can say "I live in a city in the state of São Paulo". If you live a rural area, away from a city, you can say "I live in the countryside, in the state of São Paulo". It's tricky to convey the same idea we have here in Brazil. Even in English speaking countries the usage of the words "town", "city", "country" and "countryside" varies, so don't get bogged down trying to express the same idea in English. Here's how Wikipedia defines my city: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itarar%C3%A9 Try searching for the definition Wikipedia gives to your city. Personally, I think the word "municipality" is too technical and I wouldn't use it. Hope that helps. Cheers! Vitor
