English derives from dialects originally found in Germany, Denmark, Holland, and Norway mainly between the 6th and 10th centuries. Since the 11th century, the vocabulary of English (but not the basic grammatical structures) has been greatly expanded by words from French, Latin and Greek. More recently, many other languages (like the ones you mention) have borrowed words from modern English, particularly words relating to culture, business and IT.
