How to order in hair salons. I always struggle with ordering haircut in a hair salon in the UK How would you say if you want to get your hair, for example, 6 mm on your side? (with a clipper) Can I say that "shave to 6 mm" or "trim to 6mm with a clipper?" I'm confused how I can say the word "cut" with a clipper. Thank you for reading.

Usually you don't tell them what to cut with but I guess you'd say " can you shave 6mm on the side" and you can add "with a clipper" if you like

Hi, The simplest way would be to ask for "A number 2 on the back and sides". Number 2 being the guard size on the clipper, which is 6mm. Guard Sizes: http://www.vssassoon.com.au/tips/haircutstyles/mens/combguides.aspx
