What do you expect from an online friendship? You might care much about them, their lives, their health and think about them as your friends, I mean like real friends. But at last u guys are still online friends. They can't come to you, can't share with you in real life... What would happen if someday you realize that "oh, wow they just think about me as a language partner to talk with in their spare time, and they even don't care if the time is suitable for me or not...I am not someone they need care about..." It is your choice to talk with them. And if you feel happy now, why do you think too much about "friendship"? Finally, what is friendship? What do you expect from an online friendship???

In my humble opinion, it is wrong to be 'expecting' anything.^^ I think you would start off on the wrong foot by having expectations. I would say, enjoy the moments you share! You may meet at some point in life, you may not. But that doesn't take away that you have built up a relationship, shared stories and helped each other learn a language. I think that is what counts.

Friendships are built and forged through experience; never expecting anything as a direct result. We live in an era of ever-evolving communication technologies, where you can talk to and even see others from every corner of the earth without ever leaving your desk. Whether or not you meet a person in real life will never take away from that core communication and connection. Friendship, however, is a two-way street. Both individuals would have to feel the same way about it; feel the same connection.
