Using くん with girls I always knew that くん is an honorific that you use with young boys or men that are below your age or status. However i read a few mangas where a boy is talking to a girl saying 「キョーコ君」or「なぎさ君」etc. Mi question is: This happens in real life Japanese? If so, Why do they do that?

In real life, some adults such as a teacher call a girl with くん instead of さん. If a boy call a girl with くん, the boy must be a student council president. In real life, such a boy may be not liked by everyone.

I only know one girl who want to be called with 君. She is definitely Tom Boy type of girl and is also really into manga. I think it's really uncommon to call girl with 君. And only certain type of girl wanna be called like that.
