how to understand the “class plant”? and this makes Jamie more embarrassed and mad so he pushes over all the pen pots and then he goes over to our class plant, Tina, and he lifts his leg high and goes to kick her over and I shout, ‘NO!’

It's like saying the 'class pet'...except, it's a plant. Sometimes, when children are young, their teacher may have them all take care of something in the classroom (such as an animal or a plant) to teach them about sharing and responsibility.

To add...it's like saying 'the classroom plant'; it's just shortened.
