how would you say these 1. a shirt with short sleeves and long sleeves ---how would say them? short sleeve shirt and long sleeve shirts? 2. short pants and long pants ---how would you say them? 3. 1. short-sleeved shirt; long-sleeved shirt 2. In Australia we say 'shorts' for trousers (what Americans call pants) that stop above the knee. Trousers, by definition, are long. 3. yes it sounds fine.

1 and 3 are correct 2. In the US we use shorts for shorts pants and pants for long pants
