Online dictionary Here is the thing. I use online dictionaries and while their explanation tends to get long, how would you come up with the general idea of words? Say, obstruction means bothering instead something that blocks something else and makes it difficult for things to move through: the condition of being blocked so that things cannot move through easily: the act of making it difficult for something to happen or move forward etc. Please let me know if you are not sure about what I'm trying to say here. Thank you!

There are some websites that offer "context translations". That is, it offers numerous sentences where the word or phrase shows up in your language and in the language you are learning. However, this is mostly limited to popular languages and even then, they don't always work well. Likewise, you can use context clues in the sentence where you found the word to help you understand its meaning. And finally, you can ask a native speaker, either a language partner or a teacher/tutor.
