Using present perfect Hi everybody ). Doing some english excercises I saw one sentence where the authors supposed to use present perfect. I just want to ask native eglish speakers how they'd write it. Sentences from exercise: The bad news is that I have split up with Sebastian. He has been travelling so much recently that we have not managed to see each other much and I have met someone else. Thanks!

This paragraph is correct and natural, and could have been written by a native speaker. The writer is talking about the past without mentioning any specific time. Her perspective is the present - she is explaining her current situation, by referring to events in the past which have a repercussion in the present. Because of this emphasis, we don't need to know when these past events happened (which would require the past simple).

I would write it exactly as it is here.
