思いました? Can anyone tell me the meaning of "と思いました" and how to use it? I'm guessing it means "I think" but i'm not sure, any help would be appreciated!

I think + clause(sentence) = わたしは(clause/sentence)と思います。 I thought + clause/sentence = わたしは(clause/sentence)と思いました。 *There is cases that we say 〜だと思います/思いました depends on the sentence of the clause. Examples: I thought so. わたしはそう思いました。 I thought he is right. わたしは彼は正しいと思いました。 I thought she was fine. わたしは彼女は元気だと思いました。 I hope this was helpful.
