Do teenagers in western countries are required to take CPR training in school? I‘m curious about whether high schools or universities in western countries provide lessons or trainings of CPR for teenagers? And is CPR training popular in western countries?

Whether or not students are required to learn CPR in highs chool will depend on their country and/or their high school. In my high school (in Australia) CPR was mandatory in PE (physical education) one year. I haven't heard of it being required in Universities in Australia (except where it is part of the course e.g. nursing). I would say it is fairly popular to learn CPR in Australia, there are courses run quite frequently for members of the public and as Paula says some companies do require CPR certification.

Teenagers are not required to take CPR in highschool. CPR is offered by the red cross. Some companies require CPR training for its employees and provide the course for free.

All the students at my school did a basic course every year in primary school, and we were given the option to do it again in high school (for a certificate).

I was taught CPR at school in Australia, although it's also part of the St John certificate (for first aid). We also learnt how to rescue a drowning person, as part of our swimming training.

In my High school it was required that every student took a Health and Wellness class to graduate, and in that class there was a CPR course that the students had to go through. Although, this may not be for every high school, I can at least tell you that a lot of Westerners know how to perform CPR. Whether they learned it in school or from a relative, CPR seems to be rather widely known. The only problem is some people don't necessarily know how to perform CPR correctly.
