which sentence is right? allow or allow for? Here are two sentences: Demoracy allows for many differences of opinion. Demoracy allows many differences of opinion. I know "allow for" means "take into account" or "take into consideration" or etc. But here, what does it mean?

I would use the first sentence. The "allows for" here means permits.
