The turn in for example an athletic track? How would you call the turn, loop, bend or whatever in a sports track. For example athletics, but also in indoor cycling and ice skating.? I wondered how to translate this in my notebook entry "The 1500". And it is not corrected so far, so I am really curious. I think it is called 'the turn' in a track but I am not sure. Googling I could not find a clear answer.

There isn't really a definitive answer here. From watching athletics over the years I think 'bend' is probably the most commonly used term but 'turn' may also be used and and sometimes you might hear 'curve' as well. 'Loop' is incorrect though. I don't watch much cycling or ice skating so I don't really know which term is favoured in those sports. I'd just call them 'turns.'
