Will - Used to present an offer or predict something. Example: Will you go with me to the prom? or I think Germany will with the world-cup. Going to - Used to talk about events in the future that are absolutely, 100%, going to happen. Used to talk about fixed plans or schedules. Example: I am going to go to Italy this summer. Or, John is going to sing at the end of the show.
