Does Japanese people ever use the sentence じかいもたのしみに ?
I have been learning that sentence on www.fluentu.com but when I said it to my Japanese friends they told me that it sounds weird and it is only used at the end of a tv series/anime episode. Is it ever used in everyday life when speaking person to person ?

I think your Japanese friends are right. That phrase is very common at the end of a TV show.
However, the phrase can also be used for at the end of a party, session or something.
I would say また会うのを楽しみしてるよ when I meet my friends.
