Dear Khaled! Swedes are kind but shy and independent. Also, most of the young people are very busy & hard working. Try to find retired, older people, who have lots of time. You could try to post a message on the local message board in the next shop: Want to learn Swedish, Will help with ...... (mowing lawns, fixing things in the house, help shopping etc). Swedes are, however, very independent and find it hard to accept help. But if you can watch out for places where help is needed, present yourself in a manner that makes it clear you are honest, then something in this direction might work. You could also try ask some assistant about if/where you might be of any help and if they can help arrange it. Main thing, try to get involved in activities with Swedes! Good Luck Bertil Rolf

Just find a person to speak with and do your best. It isn't harder then that. Try to find things you may have in common and use that as a start for a conversation. Say to The person that you are still studying and I think he or she would be happy to help you! ^-^

One thing that you can do is say you don't speak English. This worked for me in Spain. I told people I was Welsh and that Welsh was my first language. What can people do? Also, everytime you go into a shop, bar, restaurant etc, speak in Swedish, in my experience people usually respond in the language you start speaking to them in, these may be small everyday dialogues but its better than nothing and they build up.
