It is a rather odd choice of words and without any context it is not entirely clear what is meant. But for example, if a person is giving a speech to an audience they may introduce other important people who are present. This is called acknowledging the presence of other people. It seems that one of those people is telling the speaker that he is happy to be acknowledged and that the speaker does not need to ask his permission to be acknowledged.
