Klaus- "Aren't I" is the grammatically correct way to say "ain't I" which is still considered uneducated slang in most academic situations. "Aren't I" is also the contraction which corresponds to 'am I not' which is an older way of expressing the same thing. Perhaps one day 'ain't' will be accepted in the same way, but for now, Aida's response is the best one.

I would have chosen "am I not?" / "ain't I?" So my follow-up question would be if that's correct as well?
