Dialog to understand I saw some dialog and I don't really understand what they mean.Hope to get some help. Scene 1 A: ..... This should help with your investigation! B: It'd be the devil if it DIDN'T help! You really are Amazing. A: As if I hadn't heard that joke a thousand times before. But thank you, silly. Scene 2 C: Also, for some reason Mr Woloch is still gracing us with his very vocal presence. Could you two go see what he wants? Thank you.

>> Scene 1 >> A: ..... This should help with your investigation! >> B: It'd be the devil if it DIDN'T help! You really are Amazing. >> A: As if I hadn't heard that joke a thousand times before. But thank you, silly. "It'd be the devil..." is an english idiomatic expression that means something like "It would be really bad if..." or "it would be highly unlikely if..". The response by A ("As if I hadn't heard that joke ...") indicates that she has a very sarcastic personality. It's NOT a typical response to the statement "You really are amazing". In the second part, C is also being sarcastic: >> C: Also, for some reason Mr Woloch is still gracing us with his very vocal presence. Could you two >> go see what he wants? "Gracing us with his presence" is a mockingly polite way of saying that someone is in your company. It sounds polite and formal, but it's really only used in a derogatory context. If this is from an American TV show, then note that typically the acting and the dialogue is somewhat over dramatized from how normal people speak. I guess this is to make the jokes seem more obvious or something.
