verb tense What are the correct verb tenses here? I can think of two possible solutions , but I don´t know if one of them is wrong, if so, coul you explain why? Thank you very much James.................(not buy) any cigarettes because he ..........................(give up ) smoking hasn´t bought/ is giving up doesn´t buy/ gave up thanks

The first is present tense. The second is past tense. With the first one, it sounds like he recently gave up smoking. The second sounds like he gave up smoking a long time ago. Both are correct, depends on context.
