the link, that is the original way of writing Bahasa Melayu. It was known as Jawi scripts. Jawi scripts is a type of Arabic scripts adapted for writing Malay.
it was use somewhere since 1300 A.D.
It was not only use only in Malay language at that time, but also Austronesian languages, javanese,sundanese,language of philippines , cam (cambodia) etc.
Now, the modern time have replace it to latin scripts but the Jawi are use up to this day to all arabic base scripts and the importance of studying Jawi history and culture of southeast Asia will never be diminish.
