A really easy language, like ebonics, can be learned in one semester. (It's actually a dialect, not a language.) Esperanto can be learned in two semesters. To learn Greek well enough to be able to use the New Testament you would need two semesters and a computer Bible program, or else four semesters minimum and some good reference books. You would not expect to speak Greek, just to read and understand it, in four semesters.
I agree with Henderson. In order to learn any language you need schedule and time. Greek language is not very easy since it's alphabet has a slight difference from the latin one.
Preferably start with a teacher for at least two semesters and try to follow music and media broadcasts in greek; although the language in media is often very poor you will soon be able to feel familiar with it's sound.
