Like most holidays in the world, Novruz also enjoys some rituals.

Younger Azerbaijanis, for example, visit older and elderly relatives and bring them Novruz pastries –pakhlava and shakarbura- and presents. Those, who normally live in the distance from their family and rarely meets with family members because of their busy business life, take a short Novruz vocation to be in the family company. Those who have offended and have been offended during the preceding year try reconciliation chances. And of course, Novruz parties with lots of Azeri food such as plow, kabab, dolma, etc. and Azeri folk music accompany all the meetings.

hello, do much do you know about azeri cultures and things? i don't know much about it but there0s something i can tell you. Religion: the almost majority of azeris are shiites, iznaasharia. the area of extension of azeri is bigger in iran than in azerbaidjan itself. azeri is the second language of tehran. almost every taxi driver is azeri and more than 50% of ayatollahs and mulas are azeri or mixed azeri. Some linguistists think that turkish spoken eastwards the city of urzurum is azeri batter than turkish. azeri and turkish is intelligible in about 95%. (azeri has a lot more of persian words in everyday language).I don't know anything about singers, etc but you may find something in internet. they use cyrillic and latin letters for writting. Probably there is more cultural activity, at least in music, in Iran than in azerbaidjan. the center is the city of Tabriz.

im azeri, and must say that im pround with it,we have different celebrations,
one of our celebration holiday it is Novruz, its very super holiday.. Novruz is widely celebrated in Azerbaijan as a symbol of winter's leaving and spring's coming. Azerbaijanis pay particular attention to table laid for the holiday. There should be 7 varieties of food on the table the names of which starts with letter 'S' , for example sumakh(a kind of spice), sirke(vinegar), sud(milk), samani(grown wheat), sebzi(fried meat with greens)etc. A mirror, with coloured eggs on it and candles should also be on the table. Candle is the symbol of fire and light(keeping a person from damage), mirror is the symbol of happiness.
According to the tradition all the members of the family should be at home on the first day of the holiday. People say: 'If you are not at home on the day of the holiday, you will live without home for seven years.' The outer doors kept open in the past. On the first day of the new year the lights are kept turned on whole night, for turned off light and fire is the symbol of misfortune

we make a fire these day and jump on it

we throw a cap,and people give us sweets

The Maiden`s Tower is the symbol of Baku. The 32-meter Maiden`s Tower is one of the beautiful and mysterious architectural monuments on the Apsheron Peninsula. It has eight floors. The walls are 4-5 meters thick. You can enjoy wonderful view of Baku from here. There are a lot of legends about the tower. From the top of the tower you can see the inner city within the fortress walls. The ShirvanShah`s Palace was the most prominent architectural complex in the medieval city. After the earthquake the capital moved from Shemakha to Baku and the shah built this palace. The palace is a two storey building with service rooms on the ground floor. Built in the 15th century by Halilullah I, the palace remained untouched for a hundred years. In the complex you can see the 14th century Bei-Kubad Madrassa Mosque.
