Is German a good choice?
I want to learn German when I go back to school later on. I already know Mandarin, English.

actually, your choice will depend on your own passion and likeness. No matter how hard the language may be if you have the desire and enthusiasm to learn it, it would be a good choice.
just to share my point of view, a lot of my chinese friend learn either french, italian or spanish aside from english.

The choice is completly yours. Nevertheless each language have a lot of difficulties for a beginner... Once your choice is done you have to work hard to get result. You need drive, confidence, persistence and commitment. If you want to learn French I can help you but for german I can't sorry Then good luck...

Hi, the more languages you learn the better chance you will have of having a successful career.

I'v heard once that any time your learn a new language it develops some special neuron structures in your brain which makes it in general more efficient. So any new language is good.
But if you will put enough effort into your studies it's even better as it will drive your career in the future, broaden you outlook and cultural background.
German itself is very nice according to my opinion. Despite the diffused opinion that it sounds rude German is very expressive. And what is even more important - look at the map of the countires with germanspeaking nations: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg,Czech Republic... it covers major portion of Europe.

Hi, I think German is more complicated then other language.
English for example is much easier . The grammar is a real nightmare.
German is close to English , words often have same origin or similar meaning. That will make it a little easier to learn for you (when your english is really good ) . Also the prononciation is not to hard.
It all depends what you like to learn and how much time and energie you going to spend to learn.

如果是兴趣的话,别人管不着.
如果是想去德国学习的话,这个是必须的(除了英文授课专业?).
如果为了增加就业机会的话,在我看来,没有必要. 英语好比什么语好都强. 会西班牙语在中美南美通吃,除巴西. 会法语,在非洲通吃. 会德语,在德国奥地利瑞士一些地方能生活,但是德国公司当然喜欢要英文好的人.
我个人的小经验:
会韩语,和韩国人讲话,韩国人很吃惊,并对你格外注意.
