sorry to say "ti amo per sempre" is not right.
"ti amerò per sempre" is the correct answer.
you can also say " ti amerò per tutta la vita" .

ah! the last thing...
if you want to say it to a friend (and not your boyfriend/girlfriend) the translation is:
"ti vorrò sempre bene" or " ti vorrò bene per sempre"
=)
