    Because in Latin America (Central and South America) they speak "Latin languages". Portugese and Spanish. In North America most people speak English.

    Weil man in Lateinamerika (Mittel- und Südamerika) "Lateinische Sprachen" spricht: Portugiesisch und Spanisch. In Nordamerika sprechen die meisten Leute Englisch.

    Portugese, Spanish, Italian, French and Romanian are Romance (/Romanic /Neo-Latin) languages, based on ancient Latin.

    Portugiesisch, Spanisch, Italienisch, Französisch und Rumänisch sind Romanische Sprachen, die auf antikem Latein basieren.
