I have heard that Latein is one of major courses in Italian's high schools. Is that real ?

Latin is mandatory in my country(Serbia) in high schools. I am presuming it is for Italians as well:)

As far as I know, two types of schools have mandatory requirement for Latin in italy. They are liceo classico and liceo scientifico. The first one requires also classical Greek.
