" 咗" and "了", basically, they mean the same. But, " 咗" is a colloquial cantonese. "了" is the Chinese written form

個人認為，「了」是在寫作時用的、而「咗」則是(粵語)口語時所用的。意思方面，基本上是一樣，就如英語中的 already 與法語中的 déjà 。
