"Zeer" is a formal synonym of "erg" or "heel", in the meaning of "extremely, very".
One would use "zeer" in scientific literature, political statements etc.
There are quite a few Dutch words that can be arranged in formal/informal pairs:
    spreken / praten
    wellicht / misschien
    gereed / klaar
    tevens / ook
    echter / maar
"erg" also has a meaning of "badly"
"zeer" also has a meaning of "pain"
So a possibly combination of all these words is "het doet heel erg zeer" = "it is extremely painful".

Wenn du "sehr" sagen willst solltest du nie zeer sagen. Es heißt erg oder heel. Z.b.
