What 'näin' really means?

Hi, I don't really understand the word 'näin'. For example, in the phrase 'näin se toimii' ->7 how it works but I checked from sanakirja.org, it is adverb and means 'thus', 'so' .etc... Could you give me some examples using 'näin'?
