How can I learn the genders in German? like "der" "das" "die".
What I am trying to get to is how do I know it's "der" "das" or "die"
Is it like Spanish where you have clues on what gender the word might be or?

There are clues, and lots of exceptions to the clues. Do a Google search for "German noun gender". Some pages are good, most are rubbish. It's a little complex but you do have to study it "rule by rule" and "exception by exception". After that, you start learning plural endings. A ha ha ha. Good luck!
I wish there would be some reliable rules about that. To be sure, note the gender next to any noun you learn.
Don't trust hints you take for the gender in texts. They may be traces of weird grammar. Look up new words in your dictionary.
