what is the funniest thing that has happened while trying to speak a language as a beginner.

Crossing Romanian border by train..a border police agent came up to my compartment. I was alone. Asked for passport, etc....then he said "whats the reason of visit, "trouble"? i said : "no, no, just travel". He answered back with a big laugh: "yes, tra-vel"........
