Former Beijing Sinopost GM and Business Angel join Language Learning Network
May 15, 2008 - SHANGHAI, China – italki.com, one of the largest and fastest growing language learning websites, announced that Eric Pang has joined as President and COO. Prior to joining italki, Mr. Pang was the GM of Marketing and Business Development at Beijing Sinopost Co., Ltd. In addition, italki appointed William Bao Bean, business angel and a partner at venture capital firm Softbank China & India Holdings, to its Board of Directors.
At italki, Eric Pang will focus on expanding italki’s business relationships and partnerships, as well as developing its international marketing. Yongyue Jiang, CEO of italki, said, “We chose Eric because of his startup experience and his management skills. Eric shares our vision for the company -- to have italki become the prime destination for language learning online.”
Mr. Pang brings more than 18-years of experience in technology startups and consumer-oriented businesses. “Eric’s experience with online payment platforms will be hugely beneficial to italki. We expect Eric will play an integral role in making our small but growing company a global player,” Jiang said.
William Bao Bean joined italki’s Board of Directors because of his strong belief in the team and the concept. Bean stated, “I'm very excited about this unique opportunity to open the door to language learning and cultural exchange for people around the world, from villages to cities, no matter their socio-economic background.”
