I began my teaching experience by giving private lessons to children as a native speaker of English in 2008. Then I began tutoring English at Wall Street Institute. I did this for a year and a half until I had gained enough students with private lessons. I received my TEFL certificate January of 2011. I continue to teach private lessons or small groups.
I am available for language lessons, tutoring or speaking practice. I have a background in film production, theatre production and design so if these topics are of interest I can teach specific vocabulary to go with them.
I'm a very enthusiastic teacher who can change methods depending on the student. I prefer to teach naturally by only speaking in English but if there are complete beginner students I can speak in Spanish or some Korean. Although I believe that students will learn best by practicing speaking as much as possible, grammar is also important as it is the building block of any language. However I also believe that practicing the pronunciation, intonation and idioms of English is very important to boost the confidence of the student.
