I began teaching language in the summer of 2007, providing Azerbaijani instruction to business people working in Azerbaijan. I later completed a TESOL teaching short-course in Baku and started private tutoring English and also teaching conversational English at a learning center.

As I researched language learning further and developed my techniques more, I found that the best way to teach language is by using pictures and real materials. I believe that listening and pictorial displays are the key building blocks of early language development. Students who are just beginning language learning often feel very shy and nervous, and so I try to make them feel as relaxed as possible so that they can reach their maximum potential. It is the teacher’s responsibility to create an environment where students are comfortable enough to learn well.

Repetition in language learning is another key element in improving language. I create many opportunities for students to review material as we continue through the course.
