My Background
As a youth, I read many books and gained a strong understanding of English. In high school, I became a National Merit Scholar by making a high score on the SAT (800/800 verbal, 720/800 math). As an engineering student at Texas A&M University, I was an editor of a newsletter and an editor of an undergraduate journal of science. For about the past 7 years, I have been helping international students with spoken and written English. I have spoken with many internationals in my city and on Skype, and I have corrected their theses and dissertations. My hobbies are reading, writing, and computer programming.

I can help you improve your spoken English through conversation. We can discuss an article or talk about any topic. While we talk, I can correct your English usage and pronunciation.
Pronunciation Practice
I can correct your American pronunciation as you read an article or specific words.
Writing Practice
I have designed a special software program that helps me evaluate students' writing. If you send me a short piece of writing, I can help you identify the areas that you need to work on to improve your writing. Then, we can discuss these areas in a class session.
TOEFL or IELTS Practice
I can help you prepare for the TOEFL or the IELTS. (1) I can discuss speaking topics with you and correct your English usage and pronunciation. (2) If we read an article together, you can practice your reading and listening skills. I can ask you to summarize or paraphrase parts of the article. This will help you prepare for the questions on your test. (3) I can correct your essays with the software program that I created for this purpose. The program helps me to identify the areas you need to work on to improve your English.
