About Mimi

I graduated from the University of St Andrews with a degree in International Relations in 2009. I went to work on the JET (Japanese Exchange and Teaching) programme where I worked in a variety of schools in Japan. I returned after a year and since then I've worked as a TEFL teacher in Spain, France and over the internet. I took the CELTA course in June 2011 and I have been developing since then. I have a wide variety of experience from teaching children to teaching business English. I can make the lesson to suit your needs. I have a wide variety of materials to use during lessons. I also use short audio and video clips to break up the lesson and compliment it. I have materials and books for learning PET, First Certificate and CAE. I think though that the most important part to online lessons is communication so the majority of my lessons are taken up with speaking and listening practice. If the student wants I can give reading and writing materials for homework. Correction is very important to progression so that students are able to realise their mistakes and for them not to become ingrained. I have a wide variety of interests and like to use interesting topics for my lessons to make them more enjoyable. Of course you are welcome to suggest ideas yourself as I like to incorporate new materials and to tailor lessons according to the students wishes.
